Partial Credit available for sigfigs errors, Assignment Options, Class Options redesign.
A highly requested feature was just made available for those who use questions coded to check the number of sigfigs in students' responses.
You can now have WebAssign give partial credit to students if they enter an answer that is correct *except* for the number of sigfigs used.
If you are coding your own questions, you can include this option by doing something like:
<eqn $SIGFIGS=2; $SIGFIGS_PARTIAL='25%'; 1.2>
This would give 25% credit if they enter something like 1.234.
You can also set this option at the assignment or class level (so that it can be used with precoded textbook questions, for example).
In the assignment editor click "Assignment Options". You'll notice that this popup has been redesigned to be much easier to read. Also there is are two new options here; within the sigfigs section is a setting for partial credit. Also new is a setting to allow you to take away the popup sigfigs help page that is normally linked to from the sigfigs icon.
The sigfigs partial credit setting is also available at the class level. From a ClassView page, click "Edit Class Info" then "Options". This settings window has also been cleaned up, and includes the new sigfigs options discussed above.
We hope these improvements will be helpful! Feedback is always welcome.
