We have just released an improvement to the old Download Scores/Responses feature; that is, the popup which is accessible from the Scores page for an assignment.

Within this popup you can now choose whether you wish to download the first or last response for each question.

This feature should be handy for checking students' initial attempts on a problem or first reactions to a multiple-choice question.
