QuickNotes feature available for use

A new feature is available on WebAssign, called QuickNotes.

In a nutshell, QuickNotes provides a way to store and reuse frequent responses, explanations, etc. Any place a particular piece of text or other content could be stored and reused in the future, QuickNotes will be the way to handle it. QuickNotes is currently available in most of the communications modules.

To try out QuickNotes, go to "Communications Home" and click 'New Announcement'. Next to the box where you enter an announcement is a link to pop up the QuickNotes browser.

The first column in this browser contains the current action: "Select" a Note to insert, "Edit" an existing Note, or "Create" a new one. The first time you use QuickNotes, there will be no entries to select.

Click 'Create' and make a new QuickNote in one of the categories. (Note that when you click QuickNotes from "New Announcement", announcements is the QuickNote type that is already selected for you.)

After adding a Title and some Content, click 'Save' and the title of your QuickNote will appear in your list of QuickNotes for that category. Now that this entry is selected, click 'Insert' in the bottom left corner and the Content of that QuickNote will appear in the Announcement box on the main page.

QuickNotes can include HTML and links to other pages.

QuickNotes will soon be extended in many different ways. One planned feature is to allow QuickNotes to store a set of subroutines for referencing in questions. We also plan to provide ways to share QuickNotes, so that a group of people will be able to share a common group of responses to questions.

Please let us know if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions!
